Step into the deep silence of Norway's most secluded waters. We begin our day boarding a private boat from Bergen to glide through mystic fjord channels, catching the fresh mist of cascading waterfalls and tasting the pure mountain water. Along the way, we have the chance to try traditional fishing techniques before dropping anchor near a peaceful fjord village for a quiet stroll. A relaxed lunch is served on board, offering a beautiful moment to connect with Norwegian culture and daily life. We then cruise slowly back to Bergen.
The History, The Culture and The Gastronomy
Our morning begins ascending one of Bergen's seven mountains on a scenic funicular ride. Stepping out at the top, we watch the city stretch beneath us and take a short walk to meet the famous Fløyen goats, known for being incredibly gentle and beloved by all who visit. We then take a gentle stroll to a quiet lake hidden among the trees, stopping at a cozy café by the water's edge for a warm drink before descending to dive into the vibrant atmosphere of the historic Fish Market. The rich aromas of traditional Nordic cuisine then draw us into a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we explore the historic wooden alleys of Bryggen, the UNESCO World Heritage site, and the ancient fortress of Bergenhus. We breathe in the rich maritime heritage of the old harbor, finishing our perfect journey tasting the finest artisanal ice cream and chocolates in Bergen.
The Orchards, The Cider and The Fjord Adventure
We begin our journey departing from Bergen in the comfort of a private car, driving through winding roads that offer breathtaking, panoramic views of majestic mountains and dramatic fjords. Our destination is Øystese, where we trade the road for the water and embark on a thrilling RIB Boat adventure into the narrow Fykesund fjord, feeling the pure, invigorating breeze as we navigate between towering cliffs. Upon returning to the shore, our private car takes us up to an authentic family-run orchard, where we enjoy a guided cider tasting and local lunch. In the afternoon, we head toward Norheimsund to visit the spectacular Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, where you can uniquely walk on a secure path right behind the roaring curtain of water. We finish this perfect day with a peaceful, scenic drive back to Bergen.
The Scenic Railways and The Viking Valley
We begin our day boarding the legendary Bergen Railway (Bergensbanen), taking our seats on the historic train line connecting Bergen to Oslo. The route climbs through dramatic mountain landscapes until we reach Myrdal station, where we change to the world-renowned Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana). This iconic train winds its way down through steep valleys, skirting sections of the legendary Rallarvegen—Norway's most famous mountain cycling route. Along the descent, you will also spot the well-known Flåm Zipline and have a stop at Kjosfossen to appreciate its power as we travel toward the edge of the fjord. Upon arriving in Flåm, you will enjoy free time to explore—perhaps stepping into the unique Ægir Viking Brewery—before gathering for a local lunch. Afterward, we embark on a premium ferry cruise to Gudvangen, drifting through the serene waters of the UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord. Once we step ashore in Gudvangen, we have the choice to visit the Viking Valley or head directly back to Bergen in the comfort of a private car.
